Sunday Best

Easter Sunday is that one day of the year that is guaranteed to have some Sunday Best Fashion. Easter is one of those holidays that even non-practicing Christians will go to church, and it's traditional to wear your "Sunday Best" dress to church and Easter brunch. This year I just about died over all of the little girls and boys in their Easter outfits at brunch. There were so many cute little pastel and floral dresses on the girls, and colored shirts on the boys!

A couple things that I notice to be critical in Sunday Best fashion are: 1. Traditional, conservative, or formal: Men in suits or collared shirts, and women in dresses, pearls and hats. 2. Color: It's spring, so a little color is always good. Blues, greens, yellows, pinks, and whites scream Easter Sunday!

I saw a lot of women in skirts, floral prints, and sun hats at brunch in Newport Beach, Ca.
I wore a royal blue, all-over lace sheath dress with a conservative neckline, and a keyhole back. My shoes has a nautical look with blue and white straps and cork wedges. I paired the shoes with a tan clutch to match the neutral details. And of course, Pearls! Pearl necklace, bracelet, and earrings for that classy detail. My boyfriend wore dress shoes, black slacks, and a white collared shirt with light blue stripes (it's necessary to have some classy arm candy!).
We dressed in our Sunday Best!

Work that scarf!

Last night I went to a Gilligan's Island party and was in love with all the costumes! Who doesn't love a good themed party? Oh, and it was on a boat! Even better!

On the boat, I made friends with a girl named Kate who was dressed as a "Cruise Director" which was such a cute idea! So creative. She had a red scarf on to complete her nautical look.

As we were tearing it up on the dance floor, I noticed that Kate was trying to find a way to tie her scarf so that it would be more comfortable for dancing. So I took the scarf from her and tied it into a vest while bustin a move (now that's multitasking!). As I revealed the finished vest and put it on Kate, she was amazed and loved it!
It was a pretty awesome fashion-on-the-dance-floor moment!

The only pictures I got were with her jacket over the scarf-vest, but you get the idea.
